Documenting Behavior: A Three-Part Series to Combat Challenging Behavior
Effectively documenting behavior promotes growth.
Participants will apply the concept of ABC behavioral notes to their own classrooms and programs, a crucial element in behavior change. Attendees will identify the function of challenging behaviors and explain how the function relates to effectively addressing those behaviors. Educators will plan specific strategies for their own children and programs based on behavioral functions.
PART ONE
May 8th, 2pm – 3 pm virtual training via Zoom
Note the ABC’s
Participants will review behavioral sequences and practice simple ways to document them. Noticing and documenting these sequences is necessary to replace challenging behaviors.
PART TWO
June 9th, 1pm – 3 pm, in-person training at the R7HSA Annual Conference
Find the Function
Educators will practice finding the function of behavior. When
participants are confident in understanding the true purpose of
behaviors, they can respond more effectively.
PART THREE
June 9th, 1pm – 3 pm, in-person training at the R7HSA Annual Conference
Function-Based Interventions
Participants will practice function-based interventions. Educators will leave with targeted classroom strategies directly related to the motivation of their children’s behaviors.
